Manatees Dying in Record Numbers from Red Tide | Defenders of Wildlife Blog.

Last year in my Marine Biology class, I did a presentation on Manatees. I found a lot of great information and I don’t think I am able to upload my presentation here. I signed up on one of the websites I found as I was doing research and now every once in awhile I receive updates to my email about animals that are endangered, extinct, about to become extinct, and animals that are threatened. I opened my email today and I found this email about my animal that I chose to do my project on. I found out that they are getting injured or/and killed at alarming rates now. For a while they were okay but now they are victimized again. I am very passionate about these things as well as the other things that you have seen in my blog posts. I’ve never seen a manatee in real life, but I really want to one day. I won’t be able to do that if they all die before I get the opportunity to see them. I am not asking for you all to donate money, if you want that’s your call and it will be greatly appreciated but, I am asking that you all share this post or the link at the top of my post with as many people as you can and on as many websites that you all use as possible. These creatures are very gentle, kind, and calm. Please help me to spread awareness and to try to prevent as much harm, injury, or death as possible to these creatures. If you live in Florida or in a place where manatees live, be careful, be aware, and be considerate. I am not telling you all to not use your speed boats but I am asking that when and if you all do, please be careful and very aware, and be on the lookout for these beautiful creatures.
